    Abstract
    Cancer stem cells from colorectal cancer , characterized by CD133 expression, have been associated with 5-fluorouracile chemoresistance. DNA repair mechanisms, such as O6-alkylguanine DNA alkyltransferase and mismatch repair systems, have also been correlated to 5-FU resistance in CRC.
